We recently bought the home next to our home on Lake Minnewaska located in Glenwood, MN. We have furnished the home and are now making it available for rent. Everything is pretty much provided including kitchen utensils, grill, towels and bedding. This is a very nice two bedroom two bath home with a beautiful deck overlooking lake Minnewaska. Minnewaska is an excellent lake for fishing including walleyes and bass. You also have your own private dock for you to use as you can see in the pictures. We would like to find a person or couple who are looking to rent a lake home in Glenwood for occasional use through out the year, either monthly or yearly or possibly weekly. We live in a quiet residential area that is very safe. The house is located right along the lake with the patio deck literally overlooking the water's edge. This is a very nice attractive home with a modern kitchen, gas fireplace, and within a mile of downtown Glenwood. See pictures that are attached. The rent rates are all shown on the web site and vary between summer rates and winter rates. Wifi and spectrum tv is provided. You are responsible for the electric bill. I pay all other utilities. No pets and no smoking. This is a very nice attractive cozy lake home. We also have a 16 foot fishing boat as well as an older pontoon along with a boat lift if needed. We also have a 6.5 x 12 foot ice castle fish house for use during the winter season. Again check out the pictures. Guests will enjoy a memorable vacation in this 2800 SF fully furnished, 3.5 BR, and 3 bath lodge & bunk house. The property sleeps 9 to 12. The lodge on Maple Island sits on a wooded lot full of Maple, Oak, Basswood and Aspen trees. It is in nestled into a secluded, well-protected bay. The island is accessible by car 5 miles off I-94 at the Hyw. 29/ Alexandria exit. Land your boat at one of 2 public landings on the lake and moor it to our dock. Our bay is strictly for fishing. A public swimming beach is a boat or car ride away. Our large "L" shaped dock has a wide casting platform at the end with a built in bench, trap door for live well and a boat lift. Our bay provides excellent bass fishing in early summer with spawning beds within casting distance from the dock. Or gain access to the bigger part of the lake through the channel. The upper level- The rustic timber frame design has a feel of a remote hunting lodge out west with a touch of Africa. The main level has a cathedral ceiling over the living room and front entryway, separated by a full height stone fire place. The upper floor has a bathroom, Mater BR & Guests BR, both with queen beds. There is a smaller BR with a single bed, perfect for that “sneak away” afternoon nap. Off the master is a screen porch with a futon. The upper level rooms are connected by a catwalk which gives a birds-eye view of the living room for that wide angle family portrait. The Main floor- The high timber frame design has an open floor plan with living room, dining room, entryway, large fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with a shower, TV room, and a large screen porch off the TV room. For that elderly guest, the TV room can easily converted to a main level bedroom with a sofa sleeper, and privacy curtains that can be pulled across the french doors. The main level also has a full width elevated deck looking over the fire pit, and through the trees to the bay. The deck has 3 wrought iron tables and 12 chairs, a large grill and prep table. The Lower Level- The lower level/ walk out basement has another bedroom which has atrium doors that open onto a ground level deck. The main area Game room/ Bar has a beer fridge, inlaid chess board into the bar, fiber optic lights over the bar that twinkle like stars. Other games include a leather pocket pool table, ping pong table top, Tornado Foosball table, Air hockey table, electronic dart board, card table and chairs. Off the game room is a utility room with a full size washer and dryer. Outside- There is a bunk house with bunk beds and a loft that sleep up to 5. The fire pit is a few steps down from the lower level walk out. There are marshmallow roasting sticks and camp fire pizza irons in the mudroom. Attractions- Spend the day “Antiquing” at the numerous shops in and around Osakis, Alexandria or Glenwood area. Enjoy a relaxing round of golf at Rodina, 9 hole course approximately 4 miles from the lodge, or for the more avid golfers Tom Lehman’s- Alexandria Golf Club just outside of downtown Alexandria. Shoot skeet or trap at the Alexandria Shooting Park just 5 miles north. Bowl a few frames at Fat Daddy’s in Alex, or catch a movie at the mall. After doing all of that, have a delicious hamburger at the Muddy Boot in Forada, only a few back roads away from the lodge. Quiet, peaceful and tranquil lake home with around 1,500 feet of shoreline that is ready for you and your family to swim, fish, tube, ski and relax in. Simply put, because it sits on more than 50+ acres, it is perhaps the most quiet and peaceful lake home that you could chose for you and your family to enjoy your vacation!!! As I mentioned before we have around 1,500 feet of shoreline with your very own private sandy beach. The cabin itself is an Amish built square log cabin home which consists of two bedroom and a loft and an on demand water heater so you will never run out of hot water... The master bedroom has a king size select comfort-sleep number bed and the other bedroom has a trundle bed that is set up as two twin beds but can be easily slid together for another king bed. When you proceed up the log spiral staircase you will find the loft that consists of four custom built in twin beds as well as another set of mattresses for an additional bed if needed. There is also a rather large open area in the loft for the kids to play in. If you still need some additional sleeping space, the couch downstairs also has a hid-a-bed built in for backup. So all told the lake home can sleep 10-12 depending... We provide you with two Webber grills, one gas and one charcoal, for you to put on your chef's hat and showcase your grilling skills. But if you are planning on using the charcoal grill please bring your own charcoal as we are not sure what brand everyone likes. There is an old canoe down by the lake with some paddles in it but you will have to bring your own life preservers as we are not sure what size everyone wears. The home has a wrap around porch that views the lake at all angles so that you can watch the kids swimming at the beach or watch the fisherman or boating activities on the lake. You are likely to see many animals such as deer and pheasant while enjoying the scenic views from the south facing porch. The lake itself consists of 335 acres and is roughly a mile long and has Walleye, Northern Pike, Bluegills, Crappies, Perch as well as several other types of fish. If you like you could also take a short drive to the north to visit Glenwood where you can shop or perhaps even stop by Duffy's Roadhouse restaraunt to get what they call Gold Rush Wings that are quite possibly the best wings in the state (and no we do not have a vested interest in Duffy's).

Summer was great but the fun doesn’t need to end. We’ve reduced our off season rates and minimum nightly stay to accommodate a weekend getaway. Whether it’s fall fishing, deer camp, a ladies’ weekend, a winter retreat, ice fishing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling....this is the perfect spot. During ice fishing season, we have a 6 hole spearing/angling fish house available for rental for $150 per day (see photos). A small village forms on Little Mary each winter because the fishing is so successful there. We spent 9 months renovating the house and are excited to share it with you. Everything was designed with our guests in mind...relaxation, fun, comfort, convenience and cleanliness. A lakeside addition, 50 feet from the shore, will likely be the gathering area when people are not out on the lake, outside by the fire or sitting on the lakeside deck. Bass and sunnies are guaranteed. Walleye are abundant as well. The property sits on a bay. The depth increases slowly, making this ideal for young swimmers or for wading in. There is a pontoon available to rent daily ($200) or weekly ($600). The property is in a quiet country neighborhood. It sits on a dead-end road and has an open field behind it. There is a large yard to play in and plenty of parking. For the nature lover: View breath-taking sunrises on the lake side, gorgeous sunsets in the back and star gazing at night. There are two bald eagle's nests near the property. Their flight pattern is in front of the property so daily sightings are likely. Loons also live in the bay. Welcome to Reuss Retreat on Smith Lake What a wonderful place to get away! The cabin is at the end of a quiet dead end road, so you don’t have to worry about a traffic. A 100’ dock leads past the cattails into beautiful Smith Lake, well known for excellent sunnies and crappies (though I have done very well with Northern and Bass over the years). It’s a quiet lake, especially during weekdays, so you don’t have to battle lots of other boats. The lake is nearly 700 acres, big enough to have variety but small enough that you can enjoy the whole thing. A 14’ aluminum row boat is available for use (feel free to bring your own small motor). As you can see from the photos, it's not a swimming beach by any stretch, but it's a lovely setting. In the spring and early summer the water is crystal clear. As the season wears on the water grows cloudy (which actually helps with the fishing!). The cabin is a year round home, so it's perfect for a getaway in the middle of winter. Smith Lake is well known in the area for ice fishing, with schools of crappies and large Northern drawing ice houses onto the ice. The setting is also perfect for a quiet get-a-way, by yourself or with a few friends. Lounge around, put together some puzzles, and play some games. The home, built in 2004, brings peace and comfort. The front door opens into a vaulted living/dining/kitchen with knotty pine on the ceiling. Three bedrooms are down the hall: the master bedroom with a queen sized bed and master bath (with shower), a second bedroom with a queen bed, and a third with twin bunk beds and another twin bed. The futon in the living room opens into a full sized bed as well. A bath with tub and shower is on the main floor. We are new to VRBO and have been hard to work to make the cabin as comfortable as possible. In 2017 we added brand new sheets/towels/pillows and a deck on the back and an updated entry porch. in 2018 we upgraded he exterior, adding a retaining wall and rock all around the house. It looks lovely. We have a neighbor who serves as our used to own his own resort and will make you feel welcome and at home. He's available if any issue arises during your stay.
